Santa Barbara Bowl Outreach - Fall Cycle
The Santa Barbara Bowl Outreach grants support programs that expand equitable access to performing arts education, experiences, and engagement. Outreach funding and resources help create more inclusive performing arts opportunities for K-12 youth across Santa Barbara County.
Through this grant cycle, we’re investing in future artists, future audiences, and a more united community.
Types of Support:
Types of requests that have received past support:
Workshops and residencies
Scholarships
Teaching artist stipends
Costumes and props
Types of programs that have received past support:
In-school
After-school
Community programs
Types of programs that do not qualify for support:
Capital improvements
Marketing or development expenses
Rent and office furniture/supplies
Programs that have already taken place (programs must be ongoing past application due date - 9/18/25)
Instrument purchases and repairs should be requested through the Bowl's Instrument Fund
Funding requests to subsidize student tickets can be emailed to lyndsay@sbbowl.com
Priorities:
Must support K-12 youth
Must be in Santa Barbara County
Must be related to performing arts education; higher priority weighted to programs focusing on music
Must be a non-profit organization with tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3); or a not-for-profit educational institution; or have a confirmed fiscal sponsorship with a registered 501(c)(3) organization.
Higher priority weighted to returning applicants
Higher priority weighted to programs primarily focusing on underserved communities
Higher priority weighted to programs serving Santa Ynez Valley and/or Northern Santa Barbara County
New applicants:
First time applicants and new organizations are required to attend a training session via Zoom to apply. To schedule a session, please contact lyndsay@sbbowl.com before September 2.
Application timeline:
Applications due Thursday, September 18, 2025 by midnight - no exceptions.
Application reviewed mid-October by the Outreach committee.
Final awards will be notified by November 1.
If this cycle does not work with the timeline of your program, please consider submitting to our 2026 Spring Cycle. It is recommended the summer programs apply in the Spring Cycle. Grant funding must be used within 12 months of grant submission with reporting due by August 7, 2026.

Instrument Fund – musical instruments and equipment purchase and repairs
Community Ticket Subsidy – support for subsidized student tickets
Flash Grant – emergency funding to provide immediate relief to urgent, qualifying requests
