OUTREACH FLASH GRANTS respond quickly to your emergency funding needs coming from COVID-19 and/or other unforeseen circumstances.  These grants are intended to provide immediate relief to urgent, qualifying requests that cannot be handled during our regular application cycles (Spring and Fall). The maximum request for a Flash Grant is $3,000. 

Please read all the details below and fill in the application in full. 

Types of urgent need:

  • emergency operational support
  • equipment rental or purchase
  • artist fees
  • transportation costs
  • performance or production costs
  • promotion or marketing support or costs
  • supplies necessary for project completion
  • Performance or production support

Types of some programs that have received past support:

  • Performance or production support
  • Workshops and residencies 
  • In-school and after-school programs
  • Operating funds

Types of some organizations that have received past support:

  • Artists 
  • Schools 
  • Teachers 
  • Community organizations 

Types of requests that do not qualify for support:

  • Capital improvements and construction of buildings 
  • Furniture and office supplies 
  • Replacement of deficit funds
  • Programs or expenses which have already taken place 
  • Programs or services intended for private use
  • Projects primarily involved in legislation and/or lobbying
  • Programs which do not serve youth performing arts 

Priorities:

  • Must support youth 
  • Must be in Santa Barbara County 
  • Must demonstrate urgent need for funding
  • Must be related to performing arts education or exposure
  • Higher priority weighted for urgencies from COVID-19 impacts

Timeline:

  • Applications will be responded to within 14 days of submission
  • Flash Grant funding is always available for emergent needs


Other types of grant opportunities:

  • Instrument Fund – musical instruments and equipment purchase and repairs
  • Grant Cycles – Annual grant cycles in both Spring and Fall for significant programmatic support
