Description

♬  Santa Barbara Bowl Instrument Fund  ♬

SANTA BARBARA BOWL INSTRUMENT FUND ensures that lack of an instrument doesn't prevent a child from learning to play music.  The Instrument Fund came about in direct response to the recurring needs of local schools and arts education programs.  The Fund lends, repairs and replaces instruments for Santa Barbara County youth music programs.  Generous funding was received from the Elaine F. Stepanek Foundation, the Mosher Foundation and individual donors to launch and sustain this program.  This request is intended to respond to urgent need for instrument repairs, purchases, or replacements that are unfulfilled by other means.  

Examples of requests that qualifypurchasing a replacement instrument, instrument cases, repairs for broken instruments including tune-ups, supplies such as tuners, strings, straps, etc.  

Examples of requests that do not qualify: furniture for a music classroom, sheet music, instructor fees, etc.  If you have a need for something that does not align with the instrument fund, please consider submitting an application through one of our different programs such as our Full Grant Application.  For more immediate need, you may also qualify for a Flash Grant.  For flash grant inquiries, please email Program Manager, Kai Tepper at kai@sbbowl.com.   


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Applications are reviewed by the Outreach Committee.  If you request is approved, you will receive an email notification with further instructions. Funding can either be dispersed as a check to your school or organization, or a local music shop may be able to invoice the Bowl directly.  Decisions typically take about one to two weeks.
